We are pleased to announce the Soros Arts & Culture grant program awarded three faculty members in the Interdiciplinary MFA in Book and Paper Clifton Meador, Melissa Potter and Miriam Schaer a grant for their project: Crafting Women’s Stories: Lives in Georgian Felt. The three bring together a variety of expertise to facilitate this project.
Through a December/January 2012-13 artists’ book collaboration in the Republic of Georgia, Crafting Women’s Stories, offers the opportunity to translate personal experiences as artists books with a local craft heritage tradition: felting. This project brings together a relational aesthetic approach to craft practice. We are planning an exhibition of works at the Book and Paper Center after the workshop.
